In May 2017, Dr Gill Brown began a collaboration with members of the Centre for Neuroimaging Sciences (CNS) at King’s College London (KCL). This work contributed to Gill’s PhD research, but the collaboration with KCL has continued after the completion of the PhD.
All of Gill’s work with KCL, and the CNS in particular, is documented in detail on a dedicated website, Neuroscience & Graphic Design.
All of the work that contributed directly to Gill’s PhD research can be found on the PhD Research project page of the website, which has links to all of the blog posts that document the progress of the collaborative research.
Since completing her PhD, Gill has collaborated with the CNS on projects to create an illustrated modular Patient Information Sheet and an illustrated FDOPA PET Imaging leaflet. Follow these links to the collaboration website for much more detail on these projects.
The collaboration website also describes the Graphic Design Workshops that Gill developed with the help of the CNS and other members of the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience during 2017. Gill has continued to develop and expand her scientific visual communication training material and, since 2020, she has regularly run workshops that are open to all research students and staff of the Health Faculties at KCL. Gill also now provides visual communication workshops to scientists worldwide.
Throughout the collaboration with KCL, Gill has built up an Image Gallery of visual elements that any research scientist can access. On request (via the website contact page), the images can be used for research purposes, under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International Licence.
